FAQ
Common questions
Short answers. If yours isn't here, email support@mwaste.co.uk.
- Is MWaste for England only?
- Yes. MWaste follows the regulations and regulators that apply in England — the Environment Agency, the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 as they apply in England, and the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have different regulators and paperwork, so sign-up asks you to confirm your sites are in England.
- What does it cost?
- £50 a week plus VAT per company, with unlimited users, vehicles, sites and depots. There is a 14-day free trial, a card is taken at the start of the trial, there is no set-up fee and you can cancel at any time from Billing.
- What happens if we stop paying?
- The company goes read-only: everyone can still sign in, search, view and export every record, but nothing new can be created until a payment is made. Records are never deleted because of non-payment.
- Does MWaste send our records to Defra?
- Only when an Owner switches Digital Waste Tracking submission on. Until then receipt records are prepared and shown in a dry-run report so you can check them. When switched on, records are submitted within the two-working-day window with outage handling and a spreadsheet fallback.
- Do drivers need signal?
- No. The driver app works offline: jobs, load and tip capture, photos and signatures queue on the phone and sync when the signal returns. The app tells the driver what is still waiting to send.
- Can customers see their own records?
- Yes. Each customer gets a portal login showing only their loads, transfer notes, invoices, CO₂ and skips on hire, plus an API with webhooks if they want to integrate.
- Where is our data held?
- The application and database run in UK and EU regions. Some sub-processors (email delivery, for example) may process limited data in the United States under the UK's international transfer rules — the sub-processors page lists each one with its purpose and location. Photos and documents are stored in object storage under company-scoped keys; every record is scoped to your company.
- Can we export everything and leave?
- Yes. Every register exports to Excel and CSV, every document to PDF, and a full company data export is available from Admin. On termination you have 30 days to export before deletion.
- Is there an app to install?
- MWaste is a web app. Drivers add it to their phone's home screen from the invite link (Android and iPhone); the office uses a browser. There is nothing to install on the weighbridge PC beyond a browser.
- Who is behind MWaste?
- MWaste is an Ebrora product, built in the UK by the team behind the Ebrora Site Hub construction platform.
